Wikipedia was blacked out today in protest of SOPA and PIPA today. Which was especially irritating because I've been trying to get some school work done, and NEEDED Wikipedia.
Irritating as it was, though, I totally agree with this. Censoring the Internet is an idiotic prospect. First of all, it won't stop piracy. People will just find a new way to distribute pirated content. Second of all, you know all those fun things you like to do on the internet? YouTube, making or looking at memes, looking up the lyrics to your favorite song, finding pictures of your favorite music artist, whatever? GONE.
Basically, a website can be censored for as little as this:

So seriously, if you enjoy the Internet at all, contact your local representative and tell them to shove SOPA and PIPA up their ass. Except maybe in a more polite way.
